Library Journal
It seems that every time one turns around, there is another fitness guru with a book touting a miraculous (read: quick and easy) way to lose weight. Founder and CEO of Curves International, the largest fitness franchise in the world, Heavin is no different from the other experts. Heavin recommends working out three times a week for 30 minutes-which of course he would like you to do at Curves. But his book provides complete exercises with well-drawn examples for readers to follow or Curves regulars to use on their days off. Also included are a low-calorie diet and a low-carbohydrate diet, each with recipes and extensive menus, and a written quiz called "Test Your Metabolism" helps readers decide which plan they should follow. While good tips can be gleaned from these pages, Heavin really doesn't give us anything new.
